Logo for ICGC 2015 was designed by two undergraduate students: Sayan Biswas (MS14075) and Vikramaditya Mondal (MS14078). This logo was selected out of several entries we received.
Key features of the logo are:
The central object is a moon (with &mu &nu on it) orbiting its planet (with a T on it). The orbit resembles a G.
T and G share the subscripts &mu &nu since T&mu &nu represents the Energy-Momentum Tensor and G&mu &nu represents the Einstein Tensor which have a one to one correspondence according to General Relativity.
The orbit (G is also a part of the 100 yrs, indicating the centenary year of the publication of Einstein's 1915 paper.
The two curved segments (yellow and blue) travelling from T to the corners form an abstract depiction of the curvature of space-time around the planet.
